Collin Gallimore
Second Year Applicant
Become a Priest
Hello!
Thanks for taking a moment to learn more about us seminarians.
After having finished my human formation at Assumption Farm, I’m now working toward my Philosophy degree with the rest of our seminarians at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. Studying Philosophy has been very insightful; it’s been a grace to learn how God’s truth and love defends itself no matter how many questions there may seem to be.
Living in Visitation Household has been an extremely positive experience. I get to serve at a nearby Hispanic parish with three of my brother seminarians and am finally getting closer to fluency following my Spanish minor in undergrad.
Sharing life with the brothers here has given me a lot of hope and joy as well. Outside of classes, a group of us have taken up a cycling and swimming regiment to stay active. Little things like this are what I appreciate about brotherhood.
Overall, God has been teaching me how to receive love and give it in return – which is not an easy lesson. The human formation program we receive during the farm year gave me a good foundation to work with, and in many ways set me up to be open to the Lord’s word in this area of my life.
Please consider financially supporting our mission and my formation. As I dedicate myself to growing into God’s will for my life, I humbly ask your support to make it possible. Thank you!
To the Heights!
Collin
My name is Collin Gallimore, a 24-year-old cradle Catholic from Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas. I come from a close-knit family of four. The call to the priesthood has been on my heart for as long as I can remember. During my sophomore year of college, I felt the Lord asking me to take this call seriously. I graduated from the University of Central Arkansas in Spring 2023 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in Spanish. After university, I worked as a video contractor through a media firm I co-founded, focusing on visual marketing for clients such as Let Them Live, an international pregnancy aid organization.
My earliest thoughts of the priesthood came from quiet moments in the chapel during our family’s weekly adoration hour. And eventually through a charismatic diocesan conference, I met the Companions.
During high school, I became heavily involved in parish life, leading youth ministry, participating in a praise band, and serving on the Diocesan Youth Advisory Council. This involvement continued into college, where I led among a growing Catholic campus ministry. My discernment deepened as I encountered “the crosses” of life in different ways – illness, hardship in the family, and difficult moves.
At the 2023 SEEK conference, I felt drawn significantly to the Companions of the Cross for their charismatic spirituality, strong communal life, and openness to the Holy Spirit. My experiences with evangelism thus far resonated deeply with Fr. Bob’s vision for renewing the Church, particularly in reaching out to youth, the poor, and alienated Catholics. As I continue to discern, I trust that the Lord is guiding me one step at a time.
