You can schedule monthly or annual donations. You specify the amount, the start and finish date, and the frequency of the donation. The schedule can be stopped or adjusted as you desire, at any time, with notification from you. 

Securities are a very effective way to give charitably. When you donate publicly traded securities (stocks, mutual funds, bonds, etc.) directly to the CC’s, you can eliminate the capital gains tax and still receive a tax receipt for the fair market value on the date the security is received by the Companions of the Cross.

Make a substantial donation while only paying a fraction of the gift total amount in monthly or annual premiums

1. Name the Companions of the Cross as beneficiary of an existing or new policy
   • Your estate receives a charitable donation tax credit for the value of the life insurance
2. Transfer ownership of an existing policy to the Companions and name the Companions as beneficiary
   • You receive a charitable donation tax credit for the premiums paid each year, and a tax credit for the Cash Surrender Value in the year ownership of the policy is transferred

Leaving a gift in your will is a wonderful expression of gratitude to God for a lifetime of blessings. There are tax benefits to your estate as well. A bequest in your will can ensure the formation of priests for generations to come.

Flow-through shares donations offer donors the dual tax advantage benefits of a 100% tax deduction on the purchase of the shares and a 35 to 49% tax credit (depending on your provincial/state tax credit) on the donation of the shares. Always seek advice from your professional financial advisors. 

As brothers living in community, we seek to continually witness to the joy of serving Christ by enthusiastically apprenticing one another in our leadership skills – this requires strategically investing in ongoing leadership training.  The Companions of the Cross invest a great deal of time and financial resources in ensuring that each newly ordained priest gets proper and effective leadership training by placing them in apprenticeship roles as a third priest in a CC parish for their first year as a priest.

The Companion’s endowment provides the crucial funding needed for the discernment, education, and spiritual formation of a new generation of Catholic Priests. This fund is structured to exist in perpetuity, meaning that the Companions will benefit from the endowment’s earnings forever. An endowment is a dedicated source of long-term funding, made up of donor gifts, that supports the mission and work of the Companions of the Cross. Each year, a portion of the endowment’s investment earnings is paid out as an annual distribution to fund the Companion’s seminarian education and formation program. Because of this your contribution is not only for today’s new group of CC priests but is for all future generations of seminarians and priests. The endowment is carefully managed to ensure that future generations will enjoy its benefits just as much as the current one.
