Devine, Fr. Tim

Nov 23, 2002

What was your background before you joined the CC?
I was born in Kitchener, Ontario in October of 1974.  I went to the University of Waterloo for three years towards an undergraduate degree in psychology.  In university, I played keyboards in a band with my brother, Matt, who plays the guitar and sings.  We had some minor success and acquired a growing fan base for our original alternative rock music.

In university, I felt a growing desire to give my life more wholeheartedly for the Lord. And, as much as I appreciated psychology, I became aware that I was mostly interested in people’s spiritual lives. I felt that the priesthood would be a wonderful, fulfilling way to follow these desires.

What led you to join this community?
I discovered the Companions of the Cross and, after meeting with Fr. Bob, I was accepted to become an applicant in the Fall of 1996.

I thoroughly enjoyed my formation in the seminary. There were many young men with the same desire to love and serve the Lord for me to share my journey with. It was freeing to be surrounded with a common love for the Blessed virgin Mary, openness to the Holy Spirit, faithfulness to the Church and her teachings, and a focus on the Holy Mass and the Eucharist. I felt right at home with the studies in philosophy and theology.  With God’s help, I made it all the way to Ordination in November 2002.

What kind of ministry are you doing now?
I have been a busy priest since then, with many different places and wonderful people to work with and minister to. I am presently Pastor at St. Maurice Parishin Ottawa, Ontario.  I thank God every day for His Call on my life, and I pray that all men who are being called to the Priesthood will hear His Voice and say Yes to this great Sacrament.

Register for Permission: The Series

Fr. Bob Bedard, CC Founder had a vision for the Church coming explosively alive! He was deeply convicted that if enough people gave God permission, they would see God take initiatives and supply great renewal for the Church like never seen before.

The Permission Movement is being re-awakened in Advent 2022!

Join us for Permission: The Series. This series of four talks will inspire and equip you to be more explosively alive in your faith.
