Depressed & Anxious She went home with hope
By: Goerge Leberio, CC Seminarian
I knew I had to take part in the tour, but I still could not have predicted what I would witness. God exceeded all my expectations. Not only did he do incredible things through us and in us, he also provided for all of our needs along the way.
First, I’d like to say that it was awesome to be on the road ministering with the brothers. I believe the trip strengthened our brotherhood. Secondly, it was powerful to witness so many miracles. One memorable moment occurred when we were in Massachusetts. I saw a woman walking in who looked unsure about being at the event. To welcome her, I introduced myself and we talked. She felt a strong tug to be at Exult that night despite her best effort to ignore it. After gaining the courage at the last minute, she decided to commute 30 minutes by taxi. I prayed with her and she looked more relaxed. This was only the beginning of what God had in store for her that night.
When the healing part of the night came around, it was providential that our team had received a word, prior to the event, that God wanted to heal someone with depression and anxiety. When we called out that word to participants, the woman raised her hand. Depression had been affecting her relationship with her husband and kids. We gathered around and prayed for her all together as a congregation. I was overjoyed by the end to see her go back home with hope, which she didn’t have before.
I thank God that I said yes and embarked on this mission. It reminded me of how active God is in our lives.
What An Inspiring Experience
By: Dcn. André Gauthier
As a French-speaking permanent deacon, and guitarist, I was invited to join the Companions of the Cross seminarians for a mission of evangelization in Montreal. Upon my arrival to the city, I was greeted by six seminarians: Eran, Duli, Tim, Matt, Sebastian, and my son, Gabriel.
We immediately felt the Holy Spirit uniting us and inviting us to a deeper trust in him. We sensed he was preparing to shower those in attendance with his loving presence.
The seminarians needed God’s grace and power for this mission. After all, it was the first time that they were doing formal ministry in French, and they had little experience in Spanish—missionary evangelists often need to learn new languages, right? The guys were up for the challenge, and what an accomplishment it was!
I was impressed by their calm, care, and patience. Gabriel welcomed the attendees: “Bienvenues!” and in French he continued, “The Holy Spirit wants to set us on fire!” The evening consisted of praise and worship, Tim’s talk on the Kerygma, a renewal of baptismal promises, and Gabriel’s testimony.
When the Blessed Sacrament was processed around the church, I could tell that participants were touched by the peaceful presence of Our Lord. What an inspiring experience this was for me! I have been a permanent deacon for 15 years and it was the first time I accompanied a group of seminarians on a mission. They left a beautiful imprint on my soul. I praise the Lord for calling these young men to his service!”

About Us
He Could Hear Again
By: Matt Marin, CC Seminarian
Before every Exult night, we would prophetically intercede and listen to what God wanted to heal that night, and then during the healing portion of the evening we would announce what we had perceived.
One night we were praying for a man’s knees because he was experiencing pain, but in the midst of praying for him, his daughter felt prompted (from the Holy Spirit—I would add!) to pray over her father’s ear. He had not been able to hear for over six years and doctors had recommended a surgical procedure, but he was never convinced to proceed with it.
The CC brother leading the prayer said he felt warmth from his hand as he placed it on the man’s ear. When the prayer was over, the brother lifted his hand and the man could instantly hear again! At that moment, the man experienced the gentle and personal love of God. He mentioned he had thought that he had to learn to live with this “handicap” but now, having been healed by God, he feels it is a new beginning for him.
