Wade, Fr. Ed

What was your background before you joined the CC?
I was ordained in 1972 for the Diocese of Camden, New Jersey.  In 1980, I was released to work full time in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal throughout the United States.  I was one of the founders of the Fraternity of Priests located at the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio.  I was also Director of Student Evangelization at the university while working in student life.  My main work has been evangelization, and I lived in Belfast, North Ireland in an ecumenical community for three years, involving myself with the warring factions.  I was also an Associate Priest of the Madonna House Apostolate in Combermere, Ontario.

What led you to join this community?
I encountered Fr. Bob Bedard, the Founder of the Companions of the Cross, while at the University of Steubenville.  My desire for community life along with my work in evangelization and ministry in the gifts of the Holy Spirit led me to join the community.

What kind of ministry are you doing now?
I traveled around Canada and the USA giving missions before I became Associate Director of the Catholic Charismatic Center in Houston, Texas.  Most recently, I spent an extended time working in ecumenical relations in North Carolina.  Though now officially retired, I try and maintain an active ministry presence here in Houston.
