McCaig, Bp. Scott

What was your background before you joined the CC?
I am from Kamloops, B.C. I entered into full communion with the Catholic Church in 1987. I was active in youth ministry and served with NET Youth Ministries before entering the Companions of the Cross in 1989. I have a BA in History from Carelton University and a Masters degree in Divinity from St. Augustine’s Seminary and the University of Toronto. I was ordained in 1995. I love touring on my motorcycle, and am an ardent fan of the Vancouver Canucks, B.C. Lions, and Minnesota Vikings!

What led you to join this community?
Fr. Scott joined the Companions of the Cross because of key elements of its vision: unquestioned fidelity to the Church, life-giving brotherhood, openness to the ways of the Holy Spirit, love for the Blessed Mother, and its evangelical mission.

What kind of ministry are you doing now?
I was appointed by Pope Francis to be the Bishop of the Military Ordinariate of Canada.
