We know the Lord wants us to see, how he sees. He wants to give us his heart to see the way he does.
God tells St. Catherine of Sienna; "You can't love me as I love you." He gives her three reasons for this:
- Because he loved us before we existed.
- He loved us without himself being loved.
- He loved us and loves us without any consideration for himself.
If we want to love God, we need to love our neighbour.
You can love without consideration of your own advantage and people who don't love you.
God expects us to love our neighbour as he loves.
