At the heart of being a Pharisee is a spirit of being prideful. Every time we choose to do things our own way, sinning against God, we choose the sin of pride.
“The Beatitudes in this Sunday’s Gospel challenge us to make decisive choices to put God first and choose His will for us to be happy.”
“If we are filled with the Holy Spirit we will have these fruits in our lives.”
Here are three concrete challenges:
“St. John the Baptist was a true hipster. He wore camels hair and a leather belt. He ate wild honey and locusts, if that’s not organic I don’t know what is!”
“FOMO is a pervasive apprehension that others may be having rewarding experiences from which one is absent.” (Wikipedia)
