If we want to endure through the trials of life, we need to change our thinking. We need to approach these trials as marathons, not sprints. How do we endure when we are faced with the trials of life? How do we finish the race well?
‘If you want to follow me, you have to follow me through the cross.’
Jesus is inviting us to change the way we think about suffering and discomfort. It is precisely in the places of suffering and discomfort that Jesus is waiting for us. If we avoid suffering and discomfort, we are avoiding Jesus and what he wants to accomplish in our lives.
We need to think less like humans and more like God.
If we want to win the endurance race it means embracing the cross and following Jesus. We can all benefit in a change in thinking toward how we approach these trials.
