Ottawa, June 17, 2021 – The Most Reverend Marcel Damphousse, Archbishop of Ottawa-Cornwall, appointed Fr David Bergeron, CC Pastor of Notre Dame Cathedral Parish and Rector of the Notre Dame Cathedral Basilica, effective July 5, 2021. 

“The Companions of the Cross feel honoured to have been called to serve the people of the Archdiocese of Ottawa-Cornwall in this important ministry,” said Fr. Roger Vandenakker, General Superior. “I am confident that Fr. David’s commitment to evangelization will bear fruit in this new role.” 

“This new ministry brings me joy, peace, and excitement,” said Fr. David in his farewell to his parishioners. Up to now he had been serving as Pastor of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. “It will be challenging, but I know the Lord will supply the graces necessary to accomplish His mission.” 

Fr. David Bergeron, from Sept-Iles, Quebec, was ordained to the priesthood on May 29, 2010.
