Sometimes we forget what Advent is all about. We get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season leading up to Christmas.
During this Advent season, have we made room for Jesus? My family used to do this by making a bed for Jesus.
As a family, any time we did something kind for each other, we could place one piece of straw in the manger. As Advent went on, that pile of straw would get bigger and bigger. With all these little acts of charity we were making room for Jesus.
On Christmas Day, we took a baby doll of Jesus and placed him in the manger on top of the mound of straw. This mound of straw represented our acts of service, prayers, and striving for virtue.
What is one concrete way that you can remind yourself to enter into the season of Advent?
