The Catholic Disciple is a foundational series that inspires all who desire to grow in faith and live as a true disciple of Christ.
Through this 10 talk series, Fr. Bob Bedard presents the basic truths of our faith in a relatable, humorous, and clear way. This Scripture-based series presents the Father, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, the Church, liturgy, prayer, sacraments, healing, wisdom, discipleship and ministry—giving essential tools to live a life led and inspired by the Holy Spirit. A helpful guide is available for presenting the series to a group, with a meeting format and group discussion questions. The Catholic Disciple has been used for over 25 years in parish renewal, prayer groups, lay and seminarian formation, confirmation,
and RCIA. An accompanying book is also available.
- What does God want me to do?
- Is healing possible?
- Does God speak to regular people?
- How do I develop a life of prayer?
- What is the mission of the Church?
The Catholic Disciple in a group setting
The Catholic Disciple is designed for ease of use in a group setting such as a parish or ministry team (videos provided online, or a DVD series is available). The videos contain 10 talks. The talks range in length from 25 to 50 minutes. After watching each video, we recommend dividing into small groups of 4-8 people and discussing the questions provided for each chapter.
The DVD series includes booklet with a suggested meeting format and discussion questions. Between meetings, participants can read the corresponding chapter of the book and discuss the reflection questions from the book at the following meeting.
If you are leading a group, here is a poster that can be used to help spread the word.
