We are Here to Receive and Help Heal the Broken

What do we do when things are broken? We fix them. Did Jesus fix the leper? What did Jesus do for him?

  1. He saw him.
  2. He changed his schedule for him.
  3. He listened to him.
  4. He allowed his heart to be moved.
  5. He touched him.
  6. He spoke truth and love.

He did so much more than simply fixing a broken problem. He healed a person. Jesus has a personal approach to helping us.

It seems like God uses other people to bring healing my life.

Church, If we can get this right, we can have such a great impact on the world. We can invite people, we can create a space for people to come and belong. People will be coming from every corner, as they came to Jesus.

“The man went away and began to publicize the whole matter.
He spread the report abroad
so that it was impossible for Jesus to enter a town openly.
He remained outside in deserted places,
and people kept coming to him from everywhere.” (Mark 1:45)

We're not just here to fix peoples wounds. We are here to receive and help heal the broken.

We are saying, first you can belong. Hopefully we can surround you with people and community. And, within that community, together we can journey down the path towards healing and Jesus.

The point is simple, people who do community well can be a powerful means of healing.
