If you love me, feed my sheep.
As shepherds of the flock, we are to lead and to guide you into three basic things that a Christian should do:
1. To know Jesus
There is a big difference between knowing about Jesus and knowing him personally.
"I worry some of you still have not really met Jesus, one-to-one, you and Jesus alone. We may spend time in chapel - but have you seen with the eyes of your soul how He looks a you with love? Do you really know the living Jesus - not from books but from being with Him in your heart? Have you heard the loving words He speaks to you?" - Mother Teresa
2. To be His disciple.
Qualities of a disciple:
• Loyalty to Jesus before one’s family - A true disciple does not love father, mother, son, or daughter more than Christ.
• Take up his cross daily – Not every disciple will be called to actual martyrdom all are called to die daily to self. Die to pride, selfishness, lust, envy.
• Finding fulfillment in God alone- Those who seek happiness in life by pursuing their own interests will never be fulfilled. Only by giving one’s self to God and others do we experience the lasting fulfillment God wants us to have.
3. To make Him known to others.
When we have experienced the love of God, we can't help but share this love to others. (2 Cor 5:14)
